    does the 1964 6 hp have only one long shift rod? if not, where is the spline located and how does it come apart to remove the LU? The LU has come down only 3/4".

    64 6hp merc impeller replacement

    I think I have a 64 6 hp merc by referance to the SN which is 1661799. Anyway I can't get the lower unit off the motor to replace the impeller.
