My 2001 Chris Craft Constellation 26 turned 25 this year - you'd never know it. Of course it has only been used in fresh water. It "lives" on a trailer in covered storage and has spent most of its life in the high desert of Utah and Wyoming. With 411 hours on the tach, that pencils out to less than 16.5 hours per year! I'm not a hard core fisherman that trolls for hours on end. More of a boat-camper - getting from point A to point B in search of the perfect anchorage. I get as much satisfaction tinkering and polishing the ol' girl as I do from actually using it.

Probably was in dry storage, did that with my proline for a year, nice to call them up and have your boat waiting and fueled at the dock. One time I went 30 miles out and thought, crap, I should only have 1/8 fuel. Turns out the guys at marina filled it before I left without my asking. why ? " because you always fuel up "
They got an extra fifty that day.
sold the boat for 2500 more than I paid because it looked brand new.
Mind you, I was kinda ocd about it.

yep. understand OCD. My '08 Silverado, over 100,000 miles, looks new.
I tell my girlfriend all the time that I don't care how old something is as long as it still looks good. Personally, nothing wrong with this type of OCD. I worked hard for my stuff so I take care of it.
back to the boat.
yep, the boat was kept in a lift and obviously maintained. It is what I want...but, reluctantly, passing on it...I think 🫤..fence sitting....
The combined weight of boat and trailer exceeds my truck's tow limit by 6-700 lbs ( estimated). And I'd have to get a trailer, there's that. A few other things such as maintenance of outdrives vs outboards.

lol....yeah...actually a tongue-in-cheek compliment to her.

yes..It would be the gross weight of a loaded boat (fuel, water, etc.) and even an aluminum trailer.
Could I convince myself that I'd be ok ?.....yep.....I don't tow much even now with the pontoon. There's some other considerations....such as access to a shoreline beaching on a lake that I could not do with a fiberglass V hull.

I need 2 boats....

I have a 1999 Regal 1800 with a 3.0L. Original interior and you'd never know it. Just kept it clean, covered, maintained and used protectant on all soft surfaces. Thing won't die.
