I figured that ALL Force 50HP Carbs interchanged through the years. But these two are quite a bit different. The throat is a bigger diameter. The flange is much wider between bolt mounting centers. Even the bolt holes are bigger.
My 1987 Force's carb part number is:
WE17A - (Walbro I believe)
This one off of ebay is:
TC-102A-944 - (Tillotson I believe)
I looked up the number thinking it wasn't even for a Force 50 and sure enough. TC-102A says on this chart that the application is for a 91-92 Force 50HP.
I also have my dad's 1985 carb here for cleaning. It's very similar to my 87 in dimensions and will mount up on my motor. I notice that the 1985 carb choke lever sticks out about 3/8" further. His is made by Tillotson. His part number is marked on the carb as:
WB7B
So just incase anyone wonders... some data points on the carburetors for Force 50HP outboards. You can't use a 91-92 carb with the earlier engines (at least without some other changes).
