Daily drivers have a life expectancy of 3-4 years and are anticipated to be sold off. Usually dead by year 8-10

Plastic lasts 12-15 years under the hood of a car

Plastic has no place near an engine. It doesn't survive, and you can't recycle it

I read his
there may be a different issue didnt Chris (former mod here) have a years long thread on a front cover oil leak? I think he traced it back to casting defect on the pan that was cracking the cover. Had to get an updated GM pan etc , but took him 3-4 engine pulls to work through it...
I tracked Chris's pan problem and inspected mine for that problem. I have the cast aluminum pan and the fit was perfect. I guess I'll find out soon :)

Just reporting back - didn't wanna jump the gun.
I pulled the engine, replaced both front and rear crankshaft seals, removed and reseated the transom bracket, replaced all the penetration parts (bellows, bushings, hoses, gear oil connector, trim and limit switches), wire brushed and painted the block, replaced the water pump, alternator, plugs - reinstalled everything, reset the timing...

No water leaks from transom
No oil leak from engine
Running better than ever after two adventures!

Huge appreciation for all the help received here. Thank you!
