Sorry for the lack of updates, but there isn't much interesting happening right now. I'm almost finished with a big Sea Ray, but it's just routine body and paint work.

Probably the most interesting thing is the '90 something Tidecraft the guy nex to me is doing a transom job on.

We'll be shutting down for the holidays next week too.

Here's what I was up to eight before Christmas vacation kicked in.

On the other side of the shop, the supervisor and new kid have been working on a, uuuhhhh, Chaparral I think it was? Anyway, bit has one of those power step swim platforms, and the boss had me fix the damage on that yesterday.

I brush gelled it, and the repair is under that ring, so nothing is visible.

Back on my side is a Crownline with a super crappy prior fix. On the bottom of the boat was a spot of gel sprayed over a huge area of automotive base/clear, over another layer of base/clear, over a badly matched gel, over a big patch of bondo, and finally over a ground and filled spot that went all the way through the hull. Notice I didn't say ground and glassed, because it was all filler, a bit over 1 1/2 inches thick.

Never heard of this boat manufacturer. 2013 Cadillac ATS. Weird, don't know how it floats.

Anyway, this is my coworker's car. She got locked out 2 weeks ago, and we did some damage trying to get in. I have a panel clip tool with a wedge end, which I hammered through the door seal (thought I got around it, but I was just in the fold) and bent the door out with. She grabbed a scrap piece of stainless rub rail and I scratched the hell out of it trying to open the door.

Closer pics in the attachments below.

So I'm fixing the damage I caused over vacation. Also, the previous owner left the wiring for an amp just hanging out in the truck, still hooked up. Since I had to disconnect the battery anyway so it won't drain, I went ahead and took those off and tied the speaker wire up.

I have also now realised that I closed the truck, which is electronic button opened, with the battery disconnected. Hmmmm.....

Look to remove back seat to get into trunk. Might be able to reach in and pull inside latch in trunk

Hindsight, Probably would have been easier to call a locksmith. Air wedge is your friend. Good luck with the repair. 🤔

All done for tonight.

There isn't much I can do for the trim. We don't have any flat/satin paint, and I wouldn't know how to spray it anyway. So I touched it up with a bit of single stage. At least it's not bare metal.

I was also thinking of hooking a charger up to the jump start points under the hood to try to open the trunk.
