It's a tractor and only time I would use it would be on my 24 acres. I would park it on level ground "if needed" and chock the wheel. If I had to park it not on level ground I would point it down hill and let it rest against a tree

There will be no safety issues of it rolling when I'm not in the seat

So have you spoken anymore to the tire store about it? I suppose it would be hard to hold them liable.

Dealer took initial look by removing inspect plate and found if broke the paw and the gear. This is going to be more expensive

Said the only this could have happened is parking paw was not released, it's in low range and placed in gear. Most likely is it was put in gear and when clutch was let out the tractor died. So restarted, gave it more throttle and tried again braking things

Wow, not sure how I would handle that whole situation being that the thing was sound when you left it in the tire guys hands. Just spitballing here, maybe take a look at any video surveillance system they have, if they have one. If so it may show on the recording for that time frame.

Yes
If it was just the parking paw they would unbolt the cab and then split the tractor and move it back about 6 inches to replace. Now that it's the gear, my guess is they have to remove the trans.

I'll give them a call Monday just to get an idea what this will cost. It has to be fixed, not worth much without
