Do y’all put any sort of lubricant on the inside of the rubber exhaust boots when installing so as to make future removal easier? Thought about 24C, but wasn’t sure if that would degrade the rubber. Thanks

Nope,...... That's what hose picks are for,......
For extremely tight fitting boot, I spray inside 'em with Quicksilver Power Tune to get 'em to slip on though,.....

I'll put grease on all of my coolant hoses. Makes future removal sooo much easier. Not sure what the downside would be. Exhaust boot obviously much different temps though. Have put some power tune on the exhaust, probably doesn't do anything for removal

If you put lube on it, it will pop off! I've used bellows adhesive and it would come off. They get installed dry only. That being said, I use power tune to install as Bondo said. It gets them on nicely and dry's up quickly so they stay in place. As far as all other hoses, a dab of power tune once you get the hose pic in and they come off easily.

If you're running in the salt like I do, then you want some grease on all the hose fittings on your thermostat housing, and circulating pump housing, or else even with hose picks you'll be cursing on a cold fall day when you start winterizing it. They WILL get rusted in place, learned this the first year like 20+ years ago.
Mine come right off, and there is not enough pressure in a raw water cooled system that they would ever come off just due to grease. Now the exhaust hoses, I just put on dry, and when I slide them down to scope the elbows/manifolds at the end of each season, a little silicone spray does wonders.
