Am I missing a filter/arrestor? 15hp Mercury Kicker motor

Getting my boat going and had to evict some mice from inside the outboard (I learned for next winter...). It starts with choke on, but wont run without the choke. Pulled the cover off and it looks I am missing a flame arrestor or filter... I can see straight to the choke valve. Am I missing some parts?

Thanks... No way the mice took that. Odd that it ran fine last year... assumingly without it.

I ordered a used one on ebay.

Probably sucked in some mouse...stuff...a carb cleaning might be in order !

Mice stuffed the ENTIRE THROAT to the throttle valve with seat foam bits. I liked the quieter 2 stroke sound.
