Ok so I bought a Faria trim gauge as a test. I wired power to it and ground then jumped the pink wire at the dash side of the Harness ( after removing square to round adapter harness that goes to multi tach. Then jumped ground to black wire in 4 pin square harness and I got the analog Faria guage to read. Just wanted to try this before pulling the plug on a yamaha analog guage. I was going to install the Faria guage but my dash is too thick in the last place I can mount it (so thick the retainer wouldn't work on the Faria guage). Looks like the yamaha guage is much longer so it should be good to go. Thanks for all the insight. Much appreciated
