Hi. I messed up and put the neg cable on the pos on the battery. The engine is now dead. Evinrude/Suzuki 4stroke 70 hp. Where do i start looking for the problem?

Start tracing the main wiring to the motor and find the blown fuse.

also might check to see if the Rectifier/regulator got smoked also,
but I do not think that would keep the starter from tuning the motor
