Have removed the four bolts on the cavitation plate as well as the one under the trim tab. Placed in neutral and the unit will not drop down. according to SELOC there is not a locknut on the shift rod to uncouple and the motor is in the fully raised position. Jiggling the shifter has not helped...
Looking to possibly install an electric start to my Mariner 25. It was purchased new in 1985. The motor works fine but in cold weather my shoulder doesn't feel like pulling the rope. Is it possible to do it at reasonable cost?
The engine will start fine but fails to idle properly. It will accelerate to 10.4 mph and be at the end of power and throttle control range. The lower unit is fine but the fuel bulb is weak after running and it uses a lot of oil. Plugs were replaced. Any ideas?
