    1983 Evinrude 7.5 lower unit

    I am having troubles dropping the lower unit on an 1983 7.5. i have removed the bolts but the lower unit only drops 1/4 inch, appears to be hung up on the shifting linkage. Any suggestions on how to get it apart.
