    I'm pretty sure I forced the shaft in many directions. I will try again. Now I'm just wondering if an unbalanced propeller could cause the seals to let water in at high RPMs.

    Wow! that looks like a lot of force required. The outdrive is removed from the boat right now, I won't be able to do that setup.     I do. When my HP fuel pump died, I ordered a Carter one using the number on this forum, but the hose fitting was different. So I ordered a chinese Volvo complete assy for like $200 and it is bolt on and has been running fine the whole season.

    I got the new assembly from Amazon. Looks good, works fine. I did a 5 hrs ride yesterday and it was fine. I just find it more noisy than the Volvo part. Does anyone with that unit can confirm it is normal? Other than that it's working fine.
