    1977 merc 500 driving me nuts! any help greatly appreciated

    ok guys here is my issue, i replaced the trigger and stator on a this new to me motor. The flywheel nut had had it.( barely any thread left) I ve tried 3 oem nuts from different sources. and one from automotive fasteners here in town. NONE fit! threads look good on shaft could the crank shaft...

    flywheel nut size?? 77 merc 500

    ok so replaced stator and trigger. my flywheel nut has had it, anyone replaced with a nut from hardware store,or do i have to order one?

    1977 Merc 500 flywheel bolt size

    just replaced the trigger and stator and thinking of replacing the bolt 15/16 bolt that holds the flywheel down on to the crankshaft with something alittle thicker anyone done this? if so anyone know the thread size of this crankshaft? the treads on my bolt are pretty worn, the crankshaft...
