I am very new to outboard motors and I just got an old 1962 Johnson sea horse 5 1/2 Hp motor to use with a 12 ft jonboat. It starts first pull and opens up great. The issue I am having is that when I lower the throttle to shift or to go to a lower speed it sputters and dies...is this an idle...
