I was hoping someone had a thread, pictures, or general advice for changing a starter on a Mercruiser 5.0 EFI. Im sure I could figure it out but have found that most the time it is a lot easier if you talk to someone that has done it before.

I have a EFI 5.0 Mercruiser with around 350 hours. The last two times I have taken it out it has started sputtering when pulling up a skier/wakeboarder. Once he is up and the boat gets to a higher rpm/mph the engine will get going well and there is no problem. This last for about 30-50...
I was letting a friend drive the boat and he needed to stop quickly so he went strait from forward into reverse. There was a audible 'clunk' and the boat would not go back into neutral.
The engine would start (while in reverse gear) but the main belt was not turning because the impeller pump...
