I have been having problems with my outboard cutting out and not shutting off, the guy has replaced the battery ( thinking low voltage) Then he replaced the wire harness inside the motor (thinking improper connections) Now they want to replace the CPU on the motor, not sure what cable controls...
When I throttle down all the way on my 2004 115 EFI motor it cuts out and runs fairly well at half speed. Once in a while it will kick in a little faster like something begins to work.
It will not shut off when done using, with the key nor the kill switch.
My engine is cutting out when you go to full throttle, The last few times when I get it back to the dock then the motor will not shut off with the key nor the kill switch. I have had it in for repairs, they thought low voltage ( battery the first time) Replaced the battery, Tested same problem...
My boat motor starts fine and when you are taking off and put the throttle down then the boats starts missing, it runs almost OK at around half speed then all of a sudden you can hear the motor pick up speed and start catching up to its RPMs. If you try to speed up some more than it cuts out...
