Newbie to boating. Just been browsing around for a boat for years without ever really committing to the thought of whether I want one or not. Recently found a really really good deal on a decent project boat (1989 Maximum 1700 XR) that I could not turn down. I have no idea what I am doing, but that is a part of the journey. Every professional started as a rookie. ...And although I do not see myself as an avid seafaring captain any time soon, I do hope that my knowledge that I gain from fixing up this boat, gives me a great level of respect for the hobby and excitement to get this bad boy in the water!
