    Wiring a teleflex universal tachometer to a 1990 evinrude xp 175hp

    Putting a new teleflex universal tach on my basscat. I have an 1990 evinrude xp 175hp. I have put the gray tach wire to the SEND, the purple to the IGN, Black to IGN,and the setting is on 6P. The tach is not reading anything. What am doing wrong ?
