I've got a 1973 Evinrude 25hp 2 stroke thats been sitting un-used for about 3 years. I want to see if I can get it going again so what should I do to start this motor thats been sitting for that long?
I was told to take out the spark plugs and squirt some oil in the cylinders. Should I do this...

OK, yes I can see the arrow on top of the flywheel and it lines up with the crankshaft key as seen in the first picture.
In the second picture it shows the small marking on top of the cam pulley.

OK.... I say dumb question because before I started to break down my motor I forgot (or should I say didn't know) that I was supposed to pay attention to the direction the "cam pulley" and "crankshaft pulley" where lined up.
What I have noticed is that the "cam pulley" has the smallest little...
I noticed on the parts diagram that it's not showing any type of seal or gasket between the two halves of the crankcase. Looking at mine it doesn't look like there ever was one 'cause both halves look clean and shiney. Does this sound right? One of my friends says to use some Loctite gasket...
I'm almost done rebuilding my motor and I need to figure out how much oil it takes (oil change) and what kind to use. Any help would greatly be appreciated!
