What model is this? Can't see the complete numbers.also on the bottom it's missing that little fin deal that bolts there because prop is too big.Did someone put to big of prop or does a cap go there? It's a Baja force 250 with 454.Also what is that fill plug for on upper left side?I don't see a...
Bought this Baja force 250 with mercruiser 454 in it and replaced all gaskets .I also bought a parts engine to get parts and bolts from. Now after installing the original balancer it starts whining like a bearing is going out on a accessory pump.I then tried the parts motor balancer and it does...
So would I install a thin plate and weld all the way around or just tack it in a few places?Does this have to be sealed off completely? And does it affect compression?or does it need to be just covered with a gasket and rtv around it like someone did before?

Everything looks exactly same between these 2 engines.I am seeing mercury gasket intake 8m0050224
And glm marine 39170 both have a lot taller gasket in that port area to cover that hole.I bet one of those gaskets was...
I wonder if that's the problem it saying gen 5 by my gasket 17340?Surely it's not that ,but I would still have to rtv the gasket all around that area due to intake will not hold that part down on its own.o can also see on this parts motor the old gasket covered that area completely and had rtv...
So that number comes up as the original parts for this engine.down below or let's me pick a alternative equivalent gasket it recommend.but it does say gen 5 by part number 17340.
Engine didn't have tag for serial number.here is a spare junk motor that is same kind without the gaskets.intake is same as the one I have on my good engine.tpu can see it sits below the ports.i want to know is this a water port or is it a exhaust crossover?
No it was all tore up.tjays why I'm replacing it all.what needs to be done here?the intake doesn't cover it anyway or wouldn't have the force to push gasket down.ots not a water port.i researched it to be the exhaust crossover.
No it was all tore up.what I don't understand is the intake supposed to block that off or is the gasket supposed to block it off.after research I see that it's not a water port.its the exhaust crossover but intake doesn't go that high anyhow.im not understanding what is supposed to be don
I've been trying to rebuild this 454 gen 4 in a Baja force 250.I put on intake gasket fel pro 17340 which it call for on mercury site.In the center it barely covers the top port on the head.i think it's a water port. What is going on?I have pics to show you.Its like this on both sides.
