Can someone help me out? I have a 60 hp evenrude that has no spark. I have just about determined a power pack. however, before I buy a power pack, how do I know I don't have a bad stator or trigger. How do I test the stator?

I have a 1992 60hp evenrude 3 cyl. Thismotor has been running fine. I had the carbs rebuilt last weekend and I ran the motor all week end. Put it in the water yesterday and it started the first time. Then it died when I tried to pull it off the trailer @ the ramp. Then it would not start...
