    No pump, just the built-in tank and gravity. I’ll give the starting fluid test a shot, good idea.

    I’m finding the same thing with impellers. Not sure what makes them special. I did however shish kabob the misplaced gear with the drive shaft and it works well. Now I need to figure out why I can’t idle down without the choke on…

    Hello. I have 1986 Force 4hp outboard model 42F6A. I pulled the lower unit to check the water pump because it was not peeing (that I could see) when I ran it at idle in a bucket. I inadvertently pulled the drive shaft out of the lower gear housing and the gear below fell out of alignment...
