Well I finally got the new engine in today. When I did the engine alignment, The tool would go in fairly easily but when I pulled it out it felt like I was fighting suction

I broke one of the spark plug wires pulling it off. Will a high quality automotive set of wires be safe, or does it have to say Mercruiser on the wire. I understand the
need for marine grade starter, alternator, distributor, etc. but is there something I am missing on why you would have to use...
I am replacing the long block on my 2005 Mercruiser 4.3 ( Ser # ow373303 ). I cannot figure out how to get the plug out of the block for the original dip stick hole. What do you plug the hole with on the new block, just screw on a brass pipe plug?

I was changing out the impeller and when I took the lower unit off, I found these two things in the exhaust. One is black rubber and the other is plastic. I assume they came from the engine somehow. Any ideas what they are?
