He says his OMC Stringer out-drive has a feature that, in the case of striking the out-drive on the bottom, will automatically lift the whole assembly. According to him, this is not working...

A buddy of mine asked me to help him with his Outdrive problems. We were out in it yesterday and we were putting along when it pretty much slipped out of Forward gear and went into Neutral on its own.
Now it will not shift into either reverse or forward........just stays in...
