Just bought a 4hp "iron horse" merc. I got ripped off. Put in on tinner to find out motor has no reverse but does run well. F and N gears are fine. Easy fix or do I need new gears, lower unit? Help. Anyone have a blown up 4hp with good lower unit?

Hi, bought a 4hp merc for my daughter, runs great but no reverse. Forward and nutrle are fine. when put into reverse its makes a rattling sort of sound??! Anyone??? I heard that unless gears are lined up properly after an impeller change this can happen?
