I bought this 1997 nitro with overheated motor (didn't know at the time) I replaced the heads w/ brand new ones.Replaced the impeller.w/complete new unit.Replaced all the head bolts. After the impeller replaced had 30 psi or more at 2500 rpm.Replaced the poppet valve.And inspected the impeller...
I have a used 150 mercury that was over heated 2yrs. ago always ran alittle
rough at idle but ran good.When cranking can hear lack of compression in at least one cyl.If it was a car engine I'd say head gasket,(steam from telltale,cleaned spark plugs and pistons etc).I'm prepared for cyl head...
