I have a Fleetline Saphire 5 meter and it has trim tabs but missing the hydraulic pistons. I was just going to put two adjustable shackles on them and then lock them in position.
My question is this. Is there an ideal positioning for fixed trim tabs? Thanks for any help on this. :)

I got tired waiting on my water pump for my 70 Chrysler to get here so got curious and bout another boat with a 20hp Mercury on it and the owner says it is about the same age as the boat 1974.
