I have a 1984 75hp mercury that didnt run for 8 years. I recently got it started and changed the water pump. The shifter cable is broken and needs replaced, but when i start it the prop turns too fast almost like its in gear. I took the lower unit off and when i turn the prop shaft clockwise it...
Motor sat for 8 years without being started. I replaced the water pump impellar but it still wont pump water. Is there a thermostat that could be not working? I know this may be a dumb question but Im new to working on outboards. Any feedback would be helpful, Thanks
