1977 OMC stringer drive with a Ford small block 302
When in open throttle, sometimes (when warm) the boat will bog, wont shut of but will bog for a few seconds and go back to normal.
Changed the spark plugs, wires and the roter (couldn't fine a cap, but i cleaned it good)
Maybe water in my gas...
When i'm open throttle, occasionally engine begins to bog and eventually shut off. I feel like it may be a fuel problem but not too sure. spark plugs look good, distributor cap is clean and i installed a new rotter.
This doesnt happen all the time maybe 2 times everytime im out
I took my 1977 omc stringer electric shift out for the first time this season a few days ago
I left a full tank of gas in it over the winter.
It had a hard time staying running only when i put it in gear....Once i got her going she was fine Im thinking it might be the gas i left in it all...
When winterizing my omc stringer drive, I will empty the water from the block, add rv coolent.....Should i also drop the lower unit and add rv coolent to that too??
I have a minor screaming noise coming out of my engine, I think its my belt. Whats the best way to investigate. Also how do I know if the belt is tight or loose.
Thanks
hey folks,
My trim/tilt has been giving me problems, I changed the motor last year so i know its not the motor....It will always go down but some time when I try triming up it wont work, all i hear is the siloniod clicking.
After i run the boat and bang it around the lake for a while it will...
When i am close to full throttle there is a screaming sound coming from engine......Any ideas?? My upper unit was just rebuilt so it cant be the bearing in there, is there a bearing in the intermidiate housing that could be the problem, gimble bearing or tappered bearing.
Any idea would be...
I have a 1977 omc electric shift small block 305 ford, when in full throddle it make a screaming sound coming from the engine, when i lighten up on the throddle it goes away,
Any Ideas what this could be???
Thanks
