Have the above motor but the serial on the base and the block is 4089980.
When I look it up if I am reading it right this is a 7.5hp from 1975. can anyone help clear this up for me:confused:

my local has these motors for sale they want $200 for the 110 and $500 for the 60. the model 60 looks like new very well taken care of. the 110 looks used not damaged just used. My question is which is more reliable and will do the better job fishing on my 14' Jon boat.
I got a 7.5 hp Ted Williams 217.58882 with a 14' Jon boat and trailer. I finally got a boat after 20yrs of trying:D. The motor will start after 10-15 pulls (I believe carb kit in my future:rolleyes:) it will run at idle and rev to a high speed. But when I put it into gear it dies:(. My question...
