Last week I posted how I smoked my impeller. I took the lower unit off with and the burnt impeller. Removered the thermostats and washed out the system through the pickup tube with a garden hose. I did a compression test and read 95 and 100 starboard and 110 110 port side. (1984 v4 90hp)...
Was working on my 90 hp 1984 Johnson and ran it with out water. It ran for a few minutes then began to smoke. I suspect I burnt the impeller. Tried to run with water on and nothing came out the pee hole. She still starts and runs but I think I cloggged the water system with burnt rubber...
