I have the motor in a tank . I bring it down from a half throttle to an Idle . T motor runs really nice until it gets hot after about 15 mins.Nothing was replaced but a new Dirhard battery.

I have a 1979 Mercury 70HP Outboard,Since I reinstalled my L/U after Impeller replacement. when my Motor is in Reverse It turns the Motor both Right and left. When it is in Forward the Motor only Turns in the Forward Position , and in N it does not Turn .Is this Normal ?????
I am trying to find the Right Position to put my reverse cam in. I fell out when I removed the Lower Unit to install a Water Pump and Impeller. Man this is Driving me CRAZY.
