    how to clean exhaust ports on mercury thunderbolt

    My 71 mercury 650 thunderbolt want start in the water. The shop claims it needs the exhaust ports cleaned. How do I do this? They just rebuilt the carbs and said the compression was 120-130 on all 4 cylinders. They said #1 has a 30 psi leak down which meant a tapered bore.
