I am looking for information regarding the gas tank on a 25 hp 1978 Evinrude. Does this motor operate on a pressured or vented gas tank? Also, is the lower end from a 1964 18hp Johnson interchangeable? It does look like the exhaust housing is.
I have a 1965 18hp Johnson FD19D. Does anyone know what years and model exhaust legs are interchangeable with my 18?

I have a 1965 18 hp Johnson - after installing a new water pump and thermostat and about 5 minutes after running it I noticed dark oil coming out of a weep hole above the lower unit flange in front of the lower unit/leg - is that an indication that I may have a lower seal leak on the engine block?
