    Exhaust bellow slipped off

I haven’t noticed a formula change in the adhesive in terms of its adhesion properties. Not to say they haven’t, I just haven’t been told of issues. Any issues have typically always been the exhaust bellow.

    Exhaust bellow slipped off

Did you install the exhaust bellow dry or did you use bellows adhesive? The ones I’ve done, I’ve installed dry with no issues.

    2005 Mercruiser 5.0L MPI (Bravo 3) - Question about changing Mainfolds/Elbows

As far as the thread locker/anti-seize if your referring to the riser to manifold bolts, I used aviation sealant. Not saying it’s recommended or the best, it’s just what I’ve used in the past. Do your motor have the single point drain system? If so that may account for the difference in the...

The easiest and most precise way to install a gimbal bearing

You should be able to put a finger into the bearing and see if you can feel all the way around to see if it’s sitting flush and driven all the way in.

[SPLASHED] I/O (Sterndrive) Conversion to Outboards

Overall, how does this compare to the costs/market value of the boats with outboards that you considered prior to starting this endeavor? The older I get the more I realize it’s not always about the money. If you like what you have and the layout works then the conversion makes sense. The...

[SPLASHED] I/O (Sterndrive) Conversion to Outboards

That was a huge project to design, build, and install the engine bracket. It’s a big accomplishment by itself then add in the upholestry work and other odd household jobs and it’s significant accomplishment.

First time bellow job Alpha One Gen2

My speedometer hose was behind the water hose from the factory, I put it back the same way. I’ve had better luck with the exhaust bellow going on dry. Just my experience.

[SPLASHED] I/O (Sterndrive) Conversion to Outboards

What is your current projection for getting the engines rigged and the boat splashed? You’ve done so much work that I hope you get a few months of use this year.

[SPLASHED] I/O (Sterndrive) Conversion to Outboards

I do like the PVC boards in the bilge. The boards will be a much more comfortable working surface than some alternatives. Hopefully you won’t be in the bilge much once you wrap this project up.

[SPLASHED] I/O (Sterndrive) Conversion to Outboards

This has been a tremendous amount of work, atleast your nearing the end. Any plans for your new found storage area where the previous engine resided? Once it planes off for the first time it will all be worth it.

[SPLASHED] I/O (Sterndrive) Conversion to Outboards

I find it amazing how strong fiberglass and resin can be when combined.

Mercruiser 5 L mpi cooling system

No water came out due to the fact there wasn’t any water pressure to push it out. Best case it’s just the flappers and rubber couplers that need changed. Worst case the engine overheated.

How long did you run it without a hose feeding in water?

[SPLASHED] I/O (Sterndrive) Conversion to Outboards

I very well could be wrong but that top bolt is in the splash well and easily accessible.
