Based on other threads I've read I'm pretty sure I have an exhaust leak. Motor runs fine for a while then bogs down. When I remove the cover the motor runs great.
But, how do I find and fix the leak?
Have a 1986 15 hp Evinrude that has run really slowly last two times I've taken it out. Won't get above a trolling speed. Motor is running fine. Have checked the gear oil and it is good too. What else can it be? Need to know what to check. I am NOT a mechanic by any means but would like...
My outboard runs well except when I open it up all the way. When running at top speed it will throttle down and then back up on its own. Not sure if it's starved for gas or what. When I run at about 75% throttle or less it runs smooth and constant.
