Originally this outdrive had a 302 Holman Moody around (235 hp). The engine has been reworked and is now pushing 400 hp. Just wondering if my 1969 Volvo 250 can handle the increased power? I keep hearing how strong these Volvo outdrives are, but don't want to mash the gears.

I have a 1969 HiLiner Sportsman with a 302 Holman Moody and a Volvo outdrive. I'm trying to find the identification numbers on the outdrive, but don't know where to look. There is a plate on the front of the outdrive that just says Holman Moody Marine. Where should I be looking?
