I bought a 70hp 3-cyl 1982 mercury outboard that starts great and accelerates just fine to 2200rpm. If I increase throttle to go higher than 2200 rpm the motor will actually drop in rpm slowly and eventualy stalls. If I cut the throttle back to 1500 rpm the motor will slowly recover.
