    slipping out of gear

    I have a 76 40hp johnson and everytime I get up to higher rpms the motor slips out of gear and jusr revs up and wont go anywhere. I was told it may be the linkage but I am not sure what to look for. Any thoughts?

    TO much oil

    Can a incorrect oil mix hinder the performance of a motor? If there is to much oil in the gas will it limit the performance or will it perform fine? My motor will not get up to the proper rpms and I read in my manual that this could be the problem.

    Rpms on a 76 40hp JOhnson

    My boat will not get up to the proper rpms. It takes about 45 seconds for it just to plane out and then it seems like it will only go half speed. Someone said that I should adjust the high speed screw on the carb, but I dont know where that is. Can anyone give me a little guideance.

    I have a 1976 40hp Johnson and I am wondering how you increase the flow of fuel to the engine. Is the only way to adjust the float or is there a way to adjust it without taking apart the carburator? I fit is the float, how do you do it?
