On a muddy lake bottom, they simply dig into the bottom.
I put a 2:1 scope on the rode, it doesn't move!
Some folks use some chain, however it is not needed with a box anchor.
You do need to be straight over it to retrieve the anchor.
Hi folks, we got the 19 pound box anchor.
We love it.
I throw it off the rear of our deck boat, give it a 2:1 scope, it doesn't move a bit. When ready to leave, just back over it and pull it up. No chain!
Hi folks, we have a 19 foot deck boat on Lake Hickory North Carolina.
I have heard that box anchors are very good on this type of Lake.
Recommendations please, especially as to what weight?
Advice?
Thanks in advance!
I called Smoker Craft, (the owner of Sylvan) today, I was told that when built, the deck boat met all regulations.
There is a vent in the filler cap for the gas. (In fact it needs to be unscrewed and cleaned occasionally) and that the access in the floor with the slotted holes is the bilge vent!
1999 1900 Space Deck.
Hi folks, the regulations for boats with bilges and enclosed fuel tanks say that there must be 2 vents.
The only thing I see is the floor access cover that has 4 long vents in it.
Would that count as vents?.
Thanks in advance!
