I've search the forums for posts about fuel smells....and I get it, all gas smells are to be taken seriously! But I still have a question. What is normal? Will the fuel vent always provide a detectable vapor smell even when all systems are go?
I have a 1994 Chaparral 1830 4.3LX Merc...
I believe I picked up in previous threads that Power Steering on my 4.3LX is self-bleeding? If that is correct then I assume that I can eliminate air in the system as a concern for my non-functional system?
I've been working off an on with my power steering (Chaparral 1830SS 4.3LX) and have gotten some helpful comments from a few of you already, but haven't isolated the problem yet. I lack understanding of a few key pieces of the system - maybe some of you mechanical gurus can help.

I have a 1994 Chaparral 1830SS (just purchased) with the back to back seating config. I've always preferred the capt. chair/bench/sunpad config to this option, and have a mild curiosity about converting it. Has anyone heard of attempting this, or is there a kit to tackle it....or just way more...
