Thanks for the responses folks. If this occurs again, and I verify that there is no drop in fuel pressure when it occurs, what would you guess is next to verify?
I already replaced the TPS early this season because the engine kept surging. What else could it be -- MAP sensor? The TPS was...
So just so I understand correctly, when you poured out the contents, you didn’t find anything unusual. It was only when you attempted to clean the filter with carb cleaner that you discovered the sediment it ended up holding — correct?
Thanks for the reply.
I don’t think this is too off topic at all.
I was considering replacing my picking and anti-siphon anyway.
Here is what my pickup looks like. I assume they welded the threads to the tank so I don’t have to worry about unscrewing that while doing the pickup?
Thoughts?
I will check the fluid level, it could be low.
What are your thoughts on the problem no longer presenting itself? Could it really be the fuel filter/water separator was clogged?
I am going to fill the boat up with fresh fuel and run her again for a while to see if it presents itself again, but...
So I very briefly took the boat out today as it was very choppy and windy.
Firstly, removing the vacuum line did increase the pressure by about 5PSI.
During idle and underway fuel PSI was about 24-25PSI. Getting on plane and cruising was 30PSI — which I think is good because the regulator is...
Thanks for the reply.
No secondary fuel filter or low pressure fuel pump.
The cool fuel module is hard to get to without removing the port manifold and elbow. Rather than remove the vacuum line, would briefly pinching the return fuel line and watching the fuel pressure also be a way to verify...
Good evening!
I have a 6.2L MX MPI (Serial #0M099522). While crusing this weekend, over a sudden it felt like someone pulled the throttle back by 50%. I discovered, that now going over about 3200 RPMs causes this to happen. The engine does not stall, but bogs down.
I tested the fuel pressure...
It is a an early 2000's for sure, probably the first generation to be honest.
Looking at the engine head on, the oil pressure sender is located on the back right, under the exhaust manifold.
Would the oil pressure switch be on the bottom side of the block too, or on the top side?
