    2002 Mercury 115- 4stroke

    motor runs PERFECT, but for some reason i have water in the oil, not the lower unit, the engine. pulled plugs and foung a minute amount of moisture on #4 plug. I suspect a head gasket, but this motor has NEVER been overheated, or neglected. Are my suspisions right? it seems like a heck of alot...

    powerhead swap- 88spl t0 140 mid.

    i need to now if this powerhead E88MSLEIM (1991 88spl) will bolt onto a '78 140 mid. model # 140843C . Thanks in advance. Also, if anyone needs, i have all the parts off the 140, back in the day, everyone wanted the bubble back, and the 1-3/8 carbs.

    1991 200hp S.L.O.W.

    Ok, so i fixed the check engine light on pop's 130, we go take our boats out yesterday, now my 200hp is having issues.     1996 Johnson 130 "Check Engine Light"

    this boat has the system check Tach, when ignition is turned on, all 4 lights come on, then go off, and the "check engine" light comes back on, and stays on. It runs perfectly fine. Any idea where to start the diagnosis??

    90hp to 140hp....can it be done?

    i have a 1989 88spl that runs great, and a 1982 140hp that i overheated and seized. can i pull the powerhead from the 88spl, add the carbs and exhaust plates from the 140, put back on the 140 midsection and have a 140? the 140 mid and lower are in MUCH better shape. i cant completley remember...

    1991 force 150, and cdi stator!!!

    ok, i am on the second stator, this time i bought a cdi, BUT all the wires are the same colors(brown and yellow), has any one used one of these?? if so, what is the correct way to wire it to the packs? Thanks

    1991 Force 150hp- no spark, #5 cylinder??

    I have a 1991 , 150hp, lost spark on #5, i have replaced the stator, due to it "sparking" while running , under the flywheel, stator had a burnt spot where the brown/blue wire comes off the stator, also replaced the cdi box for #4 & #5 cylinders, and the coil for #5. now i am stumped??????

    what should the cranking compression be? i am getting 115 per hole. i am told this is too high. now i also have a 1991 200 johnson, also loop charged, it is reading approx. 75-80psi per hole, and my local mechanic said it needs rebuilt due to low compression.     Another upper crank bearing question....

    1996 112 johnson. the upper bearing shows side to side slop, quite a bit, and growls while running. my question is: will the bearings fall out into the crank case when i remove the assembly? and also, what keeps the crankshaft from being eat up when these get a lot of play in them???
