    1979-175HP Johnson does go into reverse.

    When I shift into reverse it does seem to engage. It clicks & bucks from the enigine all the way through to the throttle in my hand. Almost like it's grinding. Is there an adjustment that can be made to correct this?

    1979 175 hp Johnson

    We just bought a used boat from an auction and it had a 175 hp Seahorse. Problem is it doesn't want to go in reverse and at low speeds it stalls out.....any ideas as to what may be wrong? We will probably have to take it in to a mechanic....but any suggestions would be helpful. Also there...
