I have a 77 55hp Evinrude on a 16ft '75 Ranger. I just bought it, knew it needed work, and dove in.. lol...
Replaced new are:
Carb kits (increased jet size in idle circuit)
Fuel Pump / Filter
Power Pack
Coils
Rectifier
Fuel Lines (ALL) w/ bulb
Fuel Tanks
Batteries
Light wiring...
