    mercury 7.5 hp 1971 will not start

    Replaced the ignition coils and the plugs and just turns over plenty of spark and every 5 or 6 pulls it back fires what the problem plz help

    Hi i have a 1971 7.5 hp mercury and i have replaced the coils and spark plugs. It turns over but wont crank every couple of pulls it will back fire but thats it im thinking it might be out of time but not sure plz help
