    1991 40 Johnson died all of a sudden.

    With the red connector plug undone it runs fine. Connected, it won't start up. With the black and yellow wire disconnected it runs, and as soon as you connect it it shuts down immediately. Could it be the kill switch at the controls or something else? How would I diagnose? Thanks!

    I have a 1991 40 hp Johnson Tracker that won't start. I've tried alot of things.
