2000 150HP outboard Merc XR6 w/ carbs
T-stats have been back-orderd for weeks.
What about running without any thermostats at all? Warm water and warm weather.
Has anyone ever tried this?
Tell-tale stream not very strong when idling. Sometimes kind of sputtering, sometimes steady stream.
Water PSI gauge very erratic. Jumps around from 5 to 15
Alarm from throttle/shift control beeps after running at 2500RPM for a few minutes.(assume it is overheating alarm)
Installed new water...
