All of my flywheel studs broke off. Do I have to use double ended "flywheel" studs? why can't I just go buy some grade 8 bolts, the correct length of course? I don't get why flywheel bolts are so special, what's the difference????

I have a 95' larson with a Volvo penta 3.0. I. Have to pull the engine to do dome repairs to the flywheel. Do I have to remove the exhaust pipe to get it out? If I do how do I remove it? Any help is appreciated! Thanks.
